Hello all!

It has certainly been a long time since I have blogged…life gets crazy at times…

well let me reflect on the past year…

My parents have been coming to church with me at Vintage for over a year now. I cannot explain to you guys just how much better my family life has been. I feel like life is better all around; I am happy here at UNCG, I have met many people who desire to live a Christ-like life, my family is in a much happier place than any other time in my life, and God has been blessing me in ways I never thought possible.

Their have been some happy days, some sad days, but all joyful.

During this past year, two of my friends went to see home to see our Father in Heaven, Terry Turner, and Marcus George. Both of them lived lives worthy of being spoken highly of. They gave of themselves, and always did what they could to help someone else. Much love.

Jason and Kelley Tegen gave birth to their first child, what a wonderful blessing! I can’t wait to meet him!

Anyway-

School has been fabulous. Being an RA at UNCG has been trying at times, because believe me, you never expect some of the things that have happened to happen. I have been a counselor, an emergency responder, a conflict resolver, a last minute hair stylist, an academic advisor, a best friend, a taxi, and a personal life coach. Working with internationals has been one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I have met some people who, since being a part of my life, have changed me forever. I now have a place to stay on every continent except Antartica…but I am ok with that ;oP

I really miss my SWU friends…been a LONG time since I have traveled back that way…

Well guys…tis time for me to head into work, so I will hopefully take some time for myself and start posting again! Let me know if there is any thing you guys are curious about.

Reflections

Wow-
Has it really been since May that I posted? It is truly sad, I know, and quite honestly I don’t know if anyone actually reads this anyway.

Today was a day of thinking; thoughts of God, life, love, and the future.

I used to hear God speak to my heart….yeah yeah, I know it sounds crazy…but He did. And this past year, I find that He has grown quiet because I have slowly tread farther and farther from Him. Now I am not pursuing some crazy lifestyle, but I have become too busy. I have put MY dreams, MY wants, and MY desires above the desires that God has for my life. I too often look at the past year and a half, and I see a lot of disappointment, poor decisions, and pain, but with this backward facing look I also see growth, wisdom attained, and lessons learned. I have turned away many things out of fear for losing my independence. I felt like I was no longer vulnerable if I controlled my destiny, my decisions.

The old saying “Hindsight is 20-20″ has never been clearer, and I chuckle at the sheer truth of that statement.

Starting today, I am turning over a new leaf. I am handing back the reigns to the Hands that should have had them all along. My love and desire to please God with my life finally outweighs my love and desire for my independence. Submission. I learn this from my mother, who daily submits to my father, NOT out of demand, but out of love and respect. This lesson I think will make me a better child, sister, and one day wife and mother.

Hi all-

Sorry for my extreeeeeemely long absence from my blog! This weekend was one such a refreshing one for my love tank. I got to hang out with Cody and Kindel-very-soon-to-be-Thomas ) , Tyrome, Hannah C, and many of the other loves of my life.

Anyways-

This week has gotten off to a great start ) I just found out that if I don’t totally bomb my art history exam, that I will most likely make a “B” in the class!!! That made me SO stinkin’ happy. This semester is going to be about 2 A’s and 5 B’s hahaha….I am a failure P My mom will be mad for about a week lol…

My life lately has me feeling like I am a hamster on a running wheel. Running, running, running, yet not getting very far……or very skinny lol…that is pretty much why I haven’t posted lately; I haven’t really felt like there was much anyone would want to read about, but I have come to the conclusion that i am going write regardless if anyone reads or not. It is so therapeutic for me to write what I am feeling on my digital paper )

Well…it is about 12:15 so I am gonna finish up my studying and head to bed! Gotta nanny in the am….I’ll post more about that later too!

ok…so I stumbled upon this amazing poem on Brent Watt’s facebook page. It is a poem that this man wrote his wife for their wedding day. If you can make it through the entire thing, you will certainly be amazed by the words of this poem as I was.

1. You just received too much change. What is the most that you would feel obligated to come clean about it..if at all?

I would return even one penny if I received too much, and if i find money on the street, my mom taught me that it does not belong to us, so we try to find the owner or donate it to a church or to some organization.

2. What is the last present you regifted?

I usually do not regift, but I regifted a gift card I got at christmas to my mom P

3. You’re puking your guts up from the flu and are delirious, who do you call to take care of you?

4. It is 4am, you’re at Waffle House (or any 24 hour diner like establishment) after a night of drinking. What did you just order?

Hmmm, I loooooove their pancakes…but I order those EVERY TIME!
